Newcastle’s only dedicated Yakitori bar is going back to its roots, bringing traditional Japanese cooking to life over two unforgettable nights this month!
World-renowned Yakitori Master Chef Ryuma is flying in to take over Âpé on the 22nd and 23rd of March, offering guests a once-in a-lifetime culinary experience.
History & Quality
Born in Osaka, Ryuma has dedicated his life to Yakitori and Japanese cuisine, starting his own Yakitori business Matsuno at the early age of 18. His success and talent later helped him forge Tamago, a degustation-style Yakitori Restaurant, and Hiyoko, a chicken-based ramen restaurant.
Taking over Âpé’s iconic, fiery open kitchen, Ryuma is set to showcase his honed skills, working with and breaking-down local chickens in order to celebrate the unique textures and flavours of each individual part.
Harnessing the authentic flavors and practices of Yakitori-style cooking, Ryuma’s menus will feature juicy and succulent chicken gizzards, hearts, and livers, prepared in true Âpé fashion over the best quality charcoals.
Partnering with the Hunter’s own Red Gate Farms we’re featuring the best produce the region has to offer, showcasing their pasture-raised organic chickens.
Tickets are $110 per person (food only), with sake and beverage pairings available for $65 per person.
Don’t forget to book and mark your calendar so as to not miss out on this unique dining experience!
